Author’s comments:
I didn’t write gUnTOPIA to be an anti-gun play; you won’t find this playwright waving a burning brand or preaching from the stage. It’s a show in which gun violence plays a part, but that’s not its focus. It’s a story about how people respond to tragedy, how they sometimes push down their grief, deny reality, or normalize the unthinkable. gUnTOPIA is also a mystery, whose unravelling won’t be obvious, and it might be different for everyone in the audience. The world of gUnTOPIA, the world we live in, isn’t open to easy answers. Perhaps, in the end, there aren’t easy answers for anything. –Will
